Foundervine started in 2018 as a small group of founders that shared a passion for entrepreneurship and technology. This community has become an important place for founders to connect, learn, grow and collaborate with each other.
And as such, we wanted to introduce you to members of our team so you can get to know who we are, what we do and how we can help you on your journey.
Hello everyone, my name is Meriem Benhabiles and I am a Brand & UX Designer at Foundervine. My primary responsibility is to ensure that the way our community interacts with Foundervine is accurately reflected in a digital experience that prioritises a human-centered approach.
I got to know about Foundervine at GREHacks, a two-day event held at the University of Greenwich where I was studying for my master’s degree in Big Data & Business Intelligence. That’s where I met Indie, who was the wonderful mentor of my team, and Cecil, with whom I had the chance to engage in small talk. I started following Foundervine’s journey on LinkedIn through the inspiring people I encountered at the event, and was amazed by the work they were doing — little did I know that a year later, I would be part of it too.
A very informative conversation with Cecil on how data and user experience complement each other in today’s digital landscape led to an internship opportunity at Foundervine. I was thrilled at the prospect of being able to contribute my knowledge while being surrounded by like-minded individuals. Looking back on my journey, I feel very accomplished to be part of Foundervine as a full-time employee today, and I am excited to see where this will take me next!
I am a homebody and I enjoy my personal space, so you’ll either find me watching TV shows/movies, gaming on my PC (yes, PC not console — I can hear your judgement), or trying a new recipe (I absolutely LOVE cooking and baking). My family always remains at the centre of my universe and I make it a priority to spend quality time with them every day, despite how busy my schedule can get.
Although I relish the tranquillity of my comfort zone, I would really love to expand my horizons and check off some places from my bucket list! I visited Norway last year, and I look forward to seeing more of the world and experiencing new cultures in the near future.
As a passionate User Experience Designer and Creative, I spend some of my spare time freelancing and collaborating with businesses to help them achieve a people-centred perspective with their digital products and elevate their branding. I also recently started working on my personal brand to better establish myself in the industry — though, I will be giving this project the time it needs to come to life to ensure that it accurately represents me. Aside from that, I have a penchant for capturing moments through my lenses, and I have an Instagram account where I share my shots (@captionmysights if you’d like to check it out) 📸. I believe in having a broad perspective on what we want to achieve in life, but I also understand the importance of staying in the present and adapting to the changes that life inevitably throws our way. Because we can never be certain of tomorrow, I find it more effective to focus on setting small achievable goals that keep me motivated and allow me to track my progress as I go forward — in short, keep working hard, while trusting the timing of life! Ideally, I’d like to continuously grow as a creative in the design industry while also leaving a positive impact on the people and environment around me by spreading kindness and good vibes wherever I go!
